Portable Outdoor Water Purifier for the Adventurer

If you want clean drinking water in the outdoors, water filters are simply not enough because no water filter can kill bacteria, viruses or protozoa which are present in untreated water.

In addition to a water filter, you also need a water purifier like the Steripen Adventurer Opti to kill harmful micro-organisms (eliminates 99.99% of protozoa including Giardia and Cryptosporidia) . It uses UV light instead of chemicals to purify water and has optical sensors to ensure safe use and provide purification even the coldest of water.

To use the Adventurer Opti:

  1. Put filtered or clear water from the river or lake in a wide-mouth bottle or container
  2. Press a button on the Adventurer Opti
  3. Immerse in the water to be purified – a visible blue light shows that the steripen is working
  4. Agitate the water with the Steripen until the green LED light appears
  5. Wipe the Steripen dry and enjoy safe drinking water – it will turn itself off once the ultra-violet treatment is complete

The Adventurer Opti doesn’t leave any aftertaste and protects you from microbes that can cause cholera, botulism, dysentery, typhoid and more. It purifies 16 fl. oz. of water in under a minute and 32 fl. oz. in a minute and a half.

SteriPEN water purifiers meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards for microbiological water purifiers and have been independently tested by the Oregon Health Sciences University and the universities of Arizona and Maine. For complete test results visit www.steripen.com.

When used properly, the low-level UV-C light does not cause damage to eyes and skin. The optical sensors doubles as a backup LED flashlight.
