Brugo – The Coffee Mug with a Cooling System

brugo-cobaltblue-herobrugo-tip_sip

The Brugo is more than just another insulated travel mug. It has its own cooling system so that you can enjoy your coffee almost instantly at the perfect temperature and not don’t burn your  lips.

The way it does it is not by cooling all of the coffee at the same time, only the ones in the cooling chamber that you’re about to be drinking. There are two modes of drinking; “Tip and Cool” and “Sip”. In “Tip and Cool” mode, you tip the mug away from to get the hot coffee into the cooling chamber and then swirl the coffee in a brandy motion for about 2 seconds before sipping it. In “Sip” mode, you bypass the cooling chamber and drink as you would with other insulated travel mugs.

There are a lot of bad reviews about the Brugo mug but most of them are a result of not following the instructions and misassumptions. For example, there are a number of reviews complaining the lock mode doesn’t work and the coffee spills. In Brugo’s defense, the reason the coffee spills is because there’s probably still some coffee left in the cooling chamber, which is not meant to be leak-proof. Liquid in the main chamber will not leak when the mug is in lock mode. This is clearly explained in the instructions.
