Cold-brewed coffee is great for camping because it doesn’t require heat or electricity and probably nothing does it better than the Toddy T2N Cold Brew System. It doesn’t look as cool as the Hourglass Cold Brew Coffee Maker system and doesn’t use a permanent filter but at least it doesn’t leak.
It takes at least 12 hours to make coffee with the Toddy, like any other cold brew system. I just want you to be aware of that. But once brewed the extract can last up to 3 weeks as the manufacturer claims. Add hot water for hot coffee or ice for cold coffee; it’s like making instant coffee but this tastes better. Adjust the strength by using more or less of the extract.
Unlike hot-brewed coffee, cold-brewed coffee is more flavorful, less acidic and easier on the stomach. If you want quick coffee when you’re out camping, it’s a good idea to brew some at home and just take the extract with you. You don’t even need a camping coffee maker to make great coffee at camp.
