Camping Coffee Storage with Airscape by Planetary Design

Coffee storage containers are usually airtight containers that protect your coffee from exposure to air and sunlight. The problem with most airtight containers is that they trap the air in together with the coffee.

Air is the enemy of coffee so airtight coffee containers are just not good enough. If you want to keep your coffee fresh, you need an airtight coffee container that really separates the air from the coffee.

The Planetary Design Airscape seem to do just that. It’s like one of those vacuum bags you see on infomercials except that it’s stainless steel and there’s no need for extra equipment.

airscapeTo properly store coffee:

  1. Put coffee in Airscape’s 18/8 restaurant grade stainless steel canister
  2. Push in the lid until it reaches the top of coffee (until it cannot go in anymore)
  3. Push lid handle flat into the lid
  4. Put on the clear top lid

With lid handle up, the holes on it are open so when you push in the lid, air is pushed out of the container. Pushing the lid handle flat closes the holes, keeping the contents away from air and UV light, which also spoils coffee. The clear top lid further seals the coffee from air while allowing you to quickly see how much coffee you have left by the height of the inner lid.

There really is no better way to keep your camping coffee fresh. You can get it here:
