Mummy bags are not for everyone. In fact, it’s not natural at all to sleep in a mummy bag because live people don’t sleep like dead people (mummies). People tend to move when they sleep and rarely do people sleep exclusively on their backs. If you like sleeping on your side, mummy sleeping bags is definitely not for you because that would be extremely difficult in a tight-fitting mummy bag.

You can sleep better at night in a double sleeping bag especially with a comfy camping mattresses, a down comforter and camping pillows. It definitely beats sleeping on an air bed when you’re using this setup. I don’t  find sleeping on an air bed comfortable anyway because they’re just a bit too bouncy. A slight movement on an air bed causes it to move with you and often makes an annoying noise.

Some sleeping bags can be coupled to other sleeping bags if they have the right kind of zipper which is great if you also like to backpack solo sometimes. Thanks to sleeping system couplers and double sleeping bags, parents can now sleep with their children and couples can sleep together at camp.

A word of warning about using double sleeping bags: You might never want to sleep in a mummy bag ever again!
