Snow Sneakers?

Gear Junkie did a review on Sorel’s Fairbanks Snow Sneakers which are dubbed as the “Arctic Slip-On”. Unfortunately according to the Gear Junkie, it’s only trips to the mailbox or something like that.

The shoe with an outsole tread inspired by snowmobile tracks don’t provide much grip for icy streets since it’s made out of rubber. If you want to have some grip when walking on ice, you’re better off with crampons or traction devices like the Yaktrax Pro, Microspikes or Stablicers. Loose snow tend to get into the shoe so these Snow Sneakers are in no way an alternative to winter boots.

Neither is it as comfortable as the reviewers might have thought initially. The best it can do is keep your feet warm as long as you stay away from walking on snow.
